Gear manufacturing isn’t as straightforward a process as you might think. There are actually multiple approaches we can use to create new gears, depending on customer needs and how much information we have. Between our team of engineers, our experienced team of manufacturers, and our top-of-the-line equipment, we can handle all of the following:
- Existing specs. If you have drawings for your gears already, send them over. We can have our team to a final review to make sure everything’s in place, and manufacture them precisely to your specifications.
- Reverse engineering. If you have a gear that already exists and you need a copy, or if you have a fragment of a gear that’s been broken or worn down, we can create drawings based on whatever pieces of the original you have.
- Sketches. If you have a loose idea of what you need, but you don’t have the experience, software, or time to put everything together on your own, we can take what you have and expand it. Just give us your notes, and our team of engineers will come up with the right solution.
- Design from scratch. Of course, if you don’t have anything to start with other than your overall machine or needs, we can design something from scratch to serve you.
- Teeth cutting only. If you have blanks already prepared and you just need teeth cut, we can do that too! Teeth cutting is a precision art, and Federal Gear has more than 100 years of experience doing it.
